Hawaii Candidates in the 2010 Elections: Candidate Workshop
The Hawaii Campaign Spending Commission has announced itsNovember 5th Big Island workshop for 2010 prospective candidates. If you are considering running, or if you plan to play a key campaign role, you need to attend. Thursday, Nov. 5, 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Aupuni Center in Hilo - no preregistration, no fee, public welcome. While ten months remain before the primary election, deciding torun and planning a campaign require careful consideration. Last minute campaigns do not succeed, and anyone wishing to use pilot programfunding should begin before the filing period opens. Funding andreporting are always challenging. All candidates need to have full information before making thedecision about what type of funding to use. This workshop is thebest place to get that information. The workshop is offered only in Hilo. A second round is scheduledFebruary, but the filing period opens on February 16th, and manycandidates will launch their campaigns before then. Candidate handbooks are available online at the Campaign SpendingCommission's website, as is the schedule for classes for Nov. 5th. For additional information, call the Commission at (808)586-0285. The League of Women Voters hopes to see knowledgeable peoplewho are ready to run thoughtful, organized campaigns. This meeting isthe first step in the campaign process.
