Kona Hawaii Hotels

Kona Hawaii Hotels have some that are less expensive then the Kohala Coast Hotels, but the Historic Kaupulehu area just North of the Keahole Airport, is home to a couple of the most exclusive resorts in the world.

First off let us tell you about our top picks for Kailua Kona Hawaii Hotels. Then we will tell you about the Kona Hawaii Hotels and Resorts in Kaupulehu.

To see some of the Waikaloa Hotels and Resorts in Kohala follow this link.

Kohala Hotels are often confused with Kona Hawaii Hotels as they are only a few miles apart. You land at the same airport, and conditions are very similar. A lot of the travel brochures even call them Kona Hotels.

Sheraton Keauhou Bay
Resort and Spa

The Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa is probably the finest establishment in Kailua Kona. The structure is modern, and the interior just underwent extensive remodeling in 2005. Some of the features of the Sheraton to consider are:

• 2 Restaurants and a full service Bar

• World class Spa with fitness center

• The islands largest water slide is found in their newly constructed mammoth pool.

• Volleyball court, basketball court and 2 tennis courts.

• Luau held on the grounds twice a week.

Prices are stated as being $300+ a night, but I've always found deals on the rooms for $175-200 a night.

King Kamehameha Hotel

The location of the King Kamehameha hotel is perfect. Right on the ocean in the heart of Kailua Kona. Unfortunately this is one of the older of the Kona Hawaii Hotels, so the rooms are in a serious need of a makeover.

Prices are usually around $150 a night, and the service is good. The restaurant is not that great, but you can walk to a number of restaurants in town.

One of the best feature of this Hotel is their Luau. It is one of the best on the Big Island. There are good deals available through the Hotel where you get a car a room and breakfast for two for under $200 a night.

Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort

The Keauhou Beach Resort is another of the older Kona Hawaii Hotels, with outdated rooms, and older construction. There is two restaurants and 4 bars available, but you will probably end up dining out a bunch, as the main restaurant is good for their buffets, but that is about it. There is a excellent snorkeling beach right next door, so if you like to snorkel this is a good place to stay. They also have 4 tennis courts a full spa, and there is a good golf course nearby. All in all not high on my recommendation list.
