The 2008 Open House will feature hands-on activities and displays presenting the science, technology and excitement of astronomy. Adults and children are encouraged to attend to learn more about the universe and how Keck Observatory is advancing the edge of discovery.

The Open House will also offer short astronomy presentations by distinguished Keck astronomers and engineers as well as talks about Hawaiian astronomers by cultural practitioner Koa Rice. A number of external organizations, including Imiloa Astronomy Center of Hawaii, Kohala High School electric car team, Earls Garage student robotics team, West Hawaii Astronomy Club, International Dark Sky Association and the Akamai Observatory Internship Program will have representatives on site to share information about their programs.
