Big Island Mayor Candidates Forum in Kona August 28 – Live Broadcast on Radio

The public is invited to a moderated, nonpartisan candidate forum for mayoral candidates on Thursday, August 28 at Kealakehe High Cafeteria in Kona. The forum will start promptly at 6:00 p.m. and end at 8:00 p.m. All mayoral candidates are expected to participate.



The Mayor forum will be broadcast live on LAVA 105.3 FM, and also online, www.lava105.com . In addition, Hawai`i Public Radio will rebroadcast portions of the forum on September 2 starting at 7:00 p.m.



Attendees are invited to come early as there will be a local-style dinner plus water sold from 5:00. There will be voter registration starting at 5:00 p.m. courtesy of the League of Women Voters, for anyone not registered or anyone who has moved since the last election. If you need to register, please be sure to bring photo ID.



The community is invited to submit questions, either at the forum or in advance via email to sherryb@lava105.com or fax to 329-8564.



The forum will be moderated and questions posed by Sherry Bracken, host of KKOA and LAVA105.3's weekly public affairs broadcast, Island Issues, and Hawai`i Island news reporter for Hawai`i Public Radio.



The forum is sponsored by Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce, Kona Outdoor Circle, PATH (Peoples Advocacy Trails Hawaii), Kona Board of Realtors, and Hawaii Island Board of Realtors.
