Big Island News: PAVING SCHEDULED MONDAY EVENING AT HAPUNA BEACH PARK

KONA – On Monday, December 14, the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) will be paving portions of the parking lot at Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area and parts of Puako Road after the park closes at 7 p.m., in conjunction with park water system improvements.

Contractor Willocks Construction will begin paving at 7:30 p.m. and work will be completed by 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. Park gates will open at 7 a.m.

“We thank the community for their patience during this temporary inconvenience. State Parks division will also notify its cabin users of this planned work,” said Laura H. Thielen, DLNR chairperson.
