July 27th Kailua Kona: After an absence of 5 years, the annual parade returns to its rightful place as a part of this illustrious tournament which celebrates its 49th year and attracts top big game fishing teams from over the world. In addition to the teams, entrants are invited from the community at large, such as, but not limited to, Clubs & Organizations, Veteran’s groups, Bands, Marching Groups and political candidates and groups. There will be awards for separate categories.

Volunteers are needed to help in the parade line-up which will begin and end at the King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel, starting at 2 p.m. We also need volunteers with trucks and other vehicles to drive the fishing teams who come from many places on the Mainland as well as from other countries. You may wish to adopt a team and follow its progress through the week of fishing.

Entry and volunteer forms will be printed in West Hawaii Today, or you may call Joe Reynolds at 334-0078, or email konajoe@hawaiiantel.net .
