Keck Observatory Astronomy Lecture

You are invited to attend Keck Observatory’s January lecture, “Galaxy Halos: Here Be Dragons,” presented by Dr. Duncan Forbes on Wednesday, January 20, 2010. The program begins at 7 p.m., and seating is limited to first-come, first served.

Dr. Forbes, of Swinburne University of Technology in Australia, will describe the nearly invisible halo that confines a galaxy’s outer edge and how the Keck telescopes are helping to illuminate astronomers’ understanding of these elusive halos and their role in galaxy formation.

The program takes place in Waimea at the W. M. Keck Observatory headquarters at 65-1120 Mamalahoa Highway. For more information, visit www.keckobservatory.org or call (808) 881-3827.
