Big Island Hawaiian Vacations

For most people, Hawaiian Vacations are something that they dream about for years, and will remember for years to come. Some people are lucky enough to get out here frequently, and some are even part timers, but most of the tourists only get here once or twice in their lives.

Unfortunately, these people don't come here with proper prior planning and usually pay extravagant prices for their vacations. Travel Agents are a thing of the past, and mark the price of Vacations up. For instance: On airfare alone, I saved my mother $600 on her plane ticket because Travelocity SAVES You 20% or MORE on Air Fares

We have a whole section on airfare, and little tricks to getting a better price. The main thing to realize is that there are many things that you will want to educate yourself on before committing to any plans.

One thing that I strongly urge any tourist to educate themselves on is Hawaiian Sovereignty. We welcome the whole world in Hawaii, with millions of visitors coming every year. However, Hawaii was never intended to become a state. So, if you do your research, you will clearly see that.

So please, educate yourself on the past the present, and the future that we hope for. It will make your experience all the better, because you will be able to connect with your surroundings and the people, that live here, on a whole new level.

Hawaii Vacation Packages

If you are looking for a easy, low stress design for your Hawaiian Vacations, packages can be a good bet. Priceline negotiator is a great site for Hawaiian Vacation Packages. With Priceline you can easily Save up to $325 on Hawaiian Packages! That is usually per person!

If you don't mind doing a little ground work, get everything separate, and you can save even more.

Airfare to the Big Island

What I said above still holds true. Travel Agents mark up airplane tickets at least 20%. So use either Travelocity or Priceline for your airplane tickets. There are a number of sites that offer discount prices on airline tickets, but these both served me very well.

I actually highly recommend getting your airplane tickets separate from everything else, finding a good vacation rental, and renting a car separately.

As far as airlines go, I like United or Hawaiian. They are not the cheapest, but you get far better service and airplanes.

Accomodations

If you want a decadent experience, and you can afford it, stay at one of the Hotels on the Kona-Kohala Coast.

For those of us who love to save a little, and still have great accommodations, the Big Island has awesome Vacation Rentals and Condos available at about half of what you would pay at a fancy hotel. You also get more space, and a full kitchen!

Car Rental

I have always had the best results from Dollar Rent a car. Now this is just speaking about the Kona rental offices. I have never rented a car out of Hilo.

I know a few of the guys that work at the Dollar office in Kona, and they are honest and friendly. Hopefully to people that they don't know also! I spoke to their office about putting this recommendation on this page, and they gave me this coupon to use.

5% off any vehicle. Use Code: CJ05. Expires: 12-31-08 Some Restrictions apply.

So just follow that link, type in the code, and hopefully they are as nice to you as to me!
