I just read your article on Coconut Oil but it show cased Nutiva a large corp. doing coconut oil from the Philippines. I thought, gee that's too bad as there is a lady doing organic, extra virgin, coconut oil from Samoa representing a non-profit that goes into the back villages an empowers women to produce this healthy oil. We found her on craigslist and it is wonderful stuff. thecoconutculture@gmail.com I personally would like to see more island companies like The Coconut Culture here on the Big Island with ties to Polynesia represented on your Big Island website.
Thank you

Coconut Oil
by: Cheryl

Thank you so much Caitlyn, for writing this article about us. I was pleasantly surprised to find it. How we differ from the rest of the coconut oil out there is we are 100% handcrafted in Samoa, done in small batches and shipped frequently giving our customer the freshest option in certified organic, extra virgin coconut oil. The money goes back to the farmers through the women's based non-profit and giving people in the back villages a means to make a living and send their children to school. This money that is generated is not going into some "fat-cat's" wallet but to people who are in need of an income to support their families.
Kindest Regards,
Cheryl
