Hilo Events: November 15th: NASA/PISCES Robot Demonstrations Featuring SCARAB

Lunar robots will be on display on the grounds of `Imiloa Saturday, November 15, 2008. NASA will be on the Big Island working with the Pacific International Space Center for Exploration Systems (PISCES) testing robots that will be used on the Moon.

Demonstrations of the robots by the engineers will be from 9:00 am to Noon. The robots will be on display throughout the day at `Imiloa until 4:00 pm.

Selectively Compliant Articulated Robot Arm Rover (SCARAB) designed by Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute for lunar prospecting will be one of the three robots demonstrated.
